Stroll through the colorful city and pass through some of Tirana’s most interesting attractions. Start at Skanderbeg Square to admire the statue of Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero, as well as the spiraling Clock Tower that lies before it. Continue your walk to the beautiful Et’hem Beu Mosque, frescoed with trees and waterfalls, a rarity in Islamic art. Stop by The National Library to admire its stark architecture, the National Historic Museum to learn more about Albania’s history, and finally head into the National Art Gallery for an exploration of Albanian art. The tour wraps up with a brief visit to the coastal town of Vlora, the sight of Albania’s proclamation of independence. Visit the house-turned-museum where the original document was signed in 1912 before beginning the journey back to Tirana.
